Bhikṣuṇī Ruxiong, alias Young sunim, was born in Italy in 1963.
In 1994 she went to Korea where she started her monastic life and followed the monastic curriculum according to that tradition till ordination.
She moved to Taiwan in 2001, where she studied Vinaya for six years at Nanlin Monastery in Nantou County, in the centre of Taiwan. Under the guidance of Venerable Bhikṣuṇī Hui Jun, she finally obtained full bhikṣuṇī ordination according to the rules established in the Vinaya.
After leaving Taiwan in 2009, she spent two years in Anenja Vihara, Bavaria, Germany.
Between 2013 and 2016 she practiced meditation in Thailand, after which she went back to Korea, where she is presently residing.
She is engaged in translations and teaching activity.
Since the summer 2022, she has been holding online courses in Italian for in-depth analysis of thematic topics. The translations, handouts and Power Points (in Italian) that accompany the courses can all be found here.
